Week 8 - Dreamweaver with ASP & PHP

Hello Prof Zaidatun and frends...

This week, we already start using dreamweaver software to develop dynamic website. Dynamic website means there are data that we can manipulate such as insert, view, update and delete... normally we used two type technology @ language to develop this kind of web.... the first one is ASP and another one is PHP.

ASP also known as Active Server Pages comes along with microsoft windows and normally used IIS or PWS(old version) of server. and PHP normally used APACHE web server to support their language. Interactive web also need to support with database technology.... There are many databse in the market that can be used with ASP and PHP.. but normally user used ASP with Microsoft access or Microsoft SQL Server databse while PHP normally used MySQL databse... The development of this two language is very fun and enjoy.. the most inportant this is that we need to understand first the language and also the passion to develope the interactive website...

This one the intro...



Actually we didn't know that we need to do some montage in the beginning of this courseware. that why the intro is the last part that been discuss among us...

1. This intro only takes about 14-15 second....
2. Most of the movement was created using mask in the layer.. we used almost 26 layer to create this intro..
3. but only used i scene
4. Mask function is very important to create any motion... but still need some creativity
5. especially shape of the arrow was design few with image and we call it / convert back using 
6. beside that we also used three button/images that convert into button... then what we need to do is to repeat the motion few time.... 
7. same goes to the molecul.. we just converted the image into movie then repeat the motion
8. The last thing we have three button... one to enter to courseware, another one to repeat the intro and the last one to exit from the courseware and go to our group profile...

The idea is the hardest part to design this task.. almost one week we discuss what we need to put on our courseware... but at last this assignment was completed just on time...

1. The Design of this project was discuss among us the we used the frame concept to move every background... we also used sound that download from the internet to make more presentable...
2. Every menu we converted every image to button and made the motion and add some sound once the user click or rollover the menu.
3. The design of this project will be used on every scene of our courseware.
4. The same concept in number 2 we apply to all menu, add some motion and sound
5. There are also sound image on the main menu that can be used to stop the sound
6. some motion of text was create using mask and masked function.

Computer World lost a genius guy...

The family of former Apple chief executive Steve Jobs said that he died "peacefully" on Wednesday, surrounded by his family. A memorial Web site will be posted.
Jobs passed away at the age of 56. Jobs is survived by his wife Laurene and two children, as well as a daughter from a previous relationship.
On August 24, Jobs stepped down, stating that he could no longer meet his duties and expectations as Apple's chief executive. Jobs was diagnosed with and treated for a rare type of pancreatic cancer in 2004, but he said the 2009 absence was not a resurgence of that cancer. He took a medical leave of absence in January.

In a statement, Jobs' family said he died peacefully.
"Steve died peacefully today surrounded by his family.
"In his public life, Steve was known as a visionary; in his private life, he cherished his family. We are thankful to the many people who have shared their wishes and prayers during the last year of Steve's illness; a website will be provided for those who wish to offer tributes and memories.

Memandangkan kelas pada minggu nie takde. Dr Zaidatun meminta kami membuat tutorial scene by scene and develop some courseware for mathematics course.. simple tape banyk perkara baru yang kita dapat belajar...

Third Week - 27/09/2011

Minggu ni lebih banyak teknik yang kitaorg pelajari dari tutorial Dr Zaidatun.


Tutorial 1 - Motion guide yang mana kami membuat satu animasi pergerakan semut melalui ruang dan laluan yang telah ditetapkan

Tutorial 2 - membuat animasi traditional iaitu membangukan animasi muka bear dengan memberikan reaksi kepadnya. Teknik ini hanya memerlukan kita bermain frame yang berbeza sahaja

Tutorial 3 - Membangunan motion in motion iaitu pergerakkan burung dan arnab yang berulang dengan menetapkan frame pada simbol.. kemudian menambahakan grafik pada layer dan memanggil semula simbol yang telah kita kenalpasti tadi... Dalam tutorial ini, pergerakkan gamabr berulang akan dapat dilihat dan ianya AWESOME!!! huhu....

Next week Dr Zaida takde.. so kitaorg pun dapatlah kerja umah... emm camane la rupenye keje umah nie ek.. tunggu!!!

Where's the idea comes from?
 The main idea is to create the human life cycle.. but i found too hard to sketch human body.. the  i got the idea to create some background with the animal.. more easy to sketch... i separate the body and head design.. then we can move with the different motion at different keyframe.. One more thing.. cat design totally different picture.. only play with our keyframe..

Second Week - 20/09/2011

Hello frens...
This second week we already introduce to Flash CS3...Walaupun i'm from computer background tp sungguh jarang sekali menyentuh this software..Huhu... Okies there are few thing yang kita belajar hari ini..
firstly : Flash CS3 layout: We are introduce with menu, properties, library, tools and many more
second : Onion skin : This is our first tutorial to trace any image using union skin, we were given two images by Dr zaidatun to sketch using union skin. First one is duck picture and another one is cartoon picture:

The first one nampak macam kaku.. before Dr Zai suruh lembutkan sket pencil tools tue

 The second one: cartoon much better.. huhu

Third: Then kami diperkenalkan juga dengan gradient tools : tujuannya nk pelbagaikan color and image yang bole kita gunakan semasa design flash kita

Fourth one : the most interesting topic... TWEENING:: there are two : shape tween and motion tween...

for this topic we were ask to create simple animation and uploaded to our blog... good luck fens...

Standalone Applications and Web.
1. Are both using the same technology?

Nope.. stand alone normally used without network connection while Web with network and internet connection

2.What are the differences?

Standalone application runs on personal computers and work stations, so when we test the desktop application we are 
focusing on a specific environment. We will test complete application broadly in categories like GUI, functionality, 
Load, and backend i.e. DB.

Web application is a bit different and complex to test as 
tester don’t have that much control over the application. Application is loaded on the server whose location may or 
may not be known and no exe is installed on the client machine, we have to test it on different web browsers. Web 
applications are supposed to be tested on different browsers and OS platforms so broadly Web application is 
tested mainly for browser compatibility and operating system compatibility, error handling, static pages, backend 
testing and load testing.

3. When is the appropriate time to develop standalone applications or web-based application?

Normally standalone application was developed for individual purpose adn the installation only through single computer at one time. While web application normally used by multiple user to share the information and can be access by many user at one time..

4. Which one you prefer? 

For me, i prefer using web technology

    Educational courseware is the software that develope for education purpose

2. What are multimedia elements that can be integrated into a courseware?
    All multimedia element such as video, audio, image, and animation can be integrate on courseware

3. How to distribute a standalone multimedia courseware? 

   Normally we can distribute with CD or DVD.. 

Web

1. What is a webpage, website, portal?


     Webpage : A document connected to the World Wide Web and view able by      anyone connected to the internet who has a web browser
     Website : A computer connected to the internet that maintains a series of web pages on the World Wide Web
     Portal : A web portal or links page is a web site that functions as a point of access to information on the World Wide Web


2. What are multimedia elements that can be integrated into a webpage?
     We can have text, animation, graphic, sound, movie


3. How to integrate graphics into a webpage?
    Used authoring software like Dreamweaver or forntpage and insert the graphic to webpage ypu desire to insert the graphic


4. What are the graphics file extensions that can be accepted in WWW medium?
    *.jpeg, *.png and *.gif


5. How to integrate audios videos into a webpage and what are the file extensions?
    Same with the Q3, we need authoring software like Dreamweaver to insert our audio and video file into webpage.. Sometime user can used others third party to insert video such as youtube into our website or blog.. just embedded the code to our webpage.  There are many file extension such as :mp4, mpeg, flv,  and sound such  mp3, wma and midi


6. How to integrate animations into a webpage and what are the file extensions?
Also used the authoring software like dreamwevaer, Some of the file extension is : *.fla, *.gif and *.swf


7. What are the software that can be used to develop a webpage?
There are many software can be used to develop website like frontpage, dreamweaver, and even notepad. But i prefer to used Dreamweaver.


8. How to make your webpage interactive?
  Interactive webpage come with balance text, image and video.. the best practice is used the standard text and combine with the graphic to support your explanation. and one more thing we can add some interesting video (maybe from youtube) to attract more people to visit our pages.


9.What are the skills that you have to learn to make your webpage interactive?
  Learn more about design a good website and how to combine with the graphics and animation like flash.


10. What are ASP, JSP, Cold Fusion, PHP etc?
      ASP - Active Server Pages commonly known, is Microsoft’s first server side scripting engine that enables you to make dynamic and interactive web pages
      JSP  - JavaServer Pages (JSP) is a Java technology that helps software developers serve dynamically  generated web pages based on HTML, XML, or other document types
     PHP  - Hypertext Preprocessor is a widely used, general-purpose scripting language that was originally designed for web development to produce dynamic web pages..
Cold Fusion - is a programming language based on standard HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) that is used to write dynamic webpages

NEW YORK, Amerika Syarikat (AS) - Empat pelajar AS yang merupakan usahawan muda kini menjadi rebutan syarikat gergasi Internet, lapor akhbar Daily Mail semalam.

Mereka dianggap sebagai genius Internet selepas mencipta beberapa aplikasi komputer yang berpotensi besar untuk dimajukan.

Kejayaan empat bakat baharu itu menyebabkan mereka turut menjadi buruan syarikat-syarikat gergasi Internet temasuk, Facebook, Google dan YouTube yang tidak mahu terlepas peluang untuk mengambil mereka bekerja.

Seorang lagi pelajar, Joseph Huang turut menarik perhatian nama-nama besar Internet kerana mencipta sistem pengesanan global (GPS) yang dinamakan WiFiSlam untuk kegunaan dalam bangunan.

Aplikasi Android ciptaannya boleh memandu arah di dalam bangunan dengan teknologi tersebut berpotensi untuk dijual sebagai sistem navigasi untuk digunakan di dalam muzium dan pusat beli-belah.

Seorang lagi pelajar, Ashkay Kothari pula mengasaskan aplikasi berita, The App yang dibeli sebuah firma Internet pada harga AS$4 juta (RM12.2 juta), lima minggu selepas ia dihasilkan.

Turut tidak ketinggalan menjadi tumpuan penggiat industri Internet ialah pelajar dari negeri New Hampshire, Dan Thompson yang pakar menghasilkan pengaturcaraan Internet yang sukar. - Agensi

My first MPT1193 Class - 13/09/2011

Assalamualikum.. and hello frens..
alhamdullillah selepas cuti semester yang begitu panjang kita menyambung semula pengajian kat UTM.. Minggu pertama untuk kelas Authoring System MPT 1193 Dr Zaidatun banyak bercerita tentang penggunaan aplikasi yang akan kita gunakan sepanjang satu semester bagi subjek ini... nampak mmg menarik especially penggunaan flash yang dah lama sangat kat pasaran tapi tak berapa dikuasai.. minat dari dulu tue mmg ada, tapi tak berapa kreatif la kot... huhu...along this semester almost seven week kita akan mempelajari and menggunakan this software...

Flash is very powerful tools especially membuat animasi and montaj....
Then another thing yang kita orang akan belajar adalah menggunakan dreamweaver... this part yang paling saya suka.. Membangunkan sistem menggunakan ASP and PHP atau interactive web system... Most of the time nowadays, people more prefer menggunakan this technology especially dengan capaian internet yang semakin maju... malah budak-budak kecik pun boleh lepak-lepak kat kedai mamak and surf the net. that why this technology system interactive become more popular.. contoh paling popular sekarang ini adalah laman sosial facebook yang dibangunkan menggunakan PHP dan dibantu beberapa media yang lain...
This course evaluation almost take 70% adalah assigment.. and another 30% is final exam...lagi bagus and selamat... maknanya kena score bebetul dalam tugasan... secara ringkasnya:

• Assignment 1 : 25%
• Assignment 2 : 20%
• Portfolio (Blog) : 10%
• Lab Works (in class) : 15%
• Final Exam : 30%

Kelas pertama ini juga diperkenalkan dengan authoring system... Authoring sistem ini adalah satu program yang digunakan untuk membantu kita membangunkan satu program yang interaktif dan mengandungi media pelbagai atau multimedia... Penggunaan authoring sistem ini begitu meluas bagi membantu pelbagai organisasi dalam memudahkan aktiviti harian mereka... Contoh yang paling baik adalah http://www.frog.com yang mana menyediakan pembelajaran dan permaianan interaktif dan multimedia bagi para pelajar...
